INDICACIONES
\nAsociaci\u00f3n antihipertensiva de valsart\u00e1n -antagonista de receptores de la angiotensina II (ARA II)-, con amlodipino -calcioantagonista vasodilatador. El diferente mecanismo de acci\u00f3n de los componentes potencia su efecto antihipertensivo y permite utilizar bajas dosis con mejor perfil de seguridad y menores efectos adversos. Su administraci\u00f3n en dosis \u00fanica diaria logra habitualmente niveles estables de presi\u00f3n arterial durante 24 horas.
\nPOSOLOGIA
\nLa dosis se establecer\u00e1 individualmente de acuerdo con el criterio m\u00e9dico y cuadro cl\u00ednico del paciente. Por v\u00eda oral. Dosis \u00fanica diaria. Adultos dosis inicial 80 mg\/5 mg, que puede incrementarse a partir de las 2 semanas. Dosis m\u00e1xima: 320 mg de valsart\u00e1n, 10 mg de amlodipino.
\nCONTRAINDICACIONES
\nInsuficiencia hep\u00e1tica o renal severa. Colestasis.
\nPRECAUCIONES
\nEmbarazo: Categor\u00eda D; hay evidencia de riesgo fetal, usar como \u00faltimo recurso. Lactancia: Potencialmente riesgoso a dosis habituales. Adulto mayor. Estenosis a\u00f3rtica y de la arteria renal. Depleci\u00f3n de volumen. Coadministraci\u00f3n con suplementos de potasio.
