En empuje agudo de EPOC con s\u00edntomas leves, como alternativa a amoxicilina o amoxicilina clavul\u00e1nico. Infecci\u00f3n de piel y partes blandas. Infecciones de transmisi\u00f3n sexual (clamidiasis, gonorrea uretritis y cervicitis no complicadas, chancroide).<br \/>\nPOSOLOG\u00cdA<br \/>\nPor v\u00eda oral en dosis \u00fanica diaria 1 hora antes o 2 h luego de alimentos. Adultos: 500 mg por 3 d\u00edas o 500 mg el d\u00eda 1 y 250 mg d\u00edas 2 a 5. Infecciones de transmisi\u00f3n sexual: 1 g dosis \u00fanica. Pediatr\u00eda: v\u00eda oral si 45 kg: dosis de adulto. Faringitis: 20 mg\/kg por 3 d\u00edas o 10 mg\/kg el d\u00eda 1 y luego 5 mg\/kg d\u00edas 2 a 5. Tratamiento y quimioprofilaxis de contactos de Bordetella pertussis: 6 meses y ni\u00f1os: 10 mg\/kg\/d\u00eda el d\u00eda 1 y luego 5 mg\/kg\/d\u00eda por 4 d\u00edas; adolescentes y adultos: 500 mg el d\u00eda 1 y luego 250 mg por 4 d\u00edas. En sinusitis y diarrea por Shigella: 10 mg\/kg monodosis d\u00eda 1 y 5 mg\/kg\/ del d\u00eda 2 al 5. En diarrea por Campylobacter jejuni: 10 mg\/kg d\u00eda por 3 d\u00edas.En c\u00f3lera: 20 mg\/kg, monodosis. Dosis diaria m\u00e1xima 500 mg.<br \/>\nCONTRAINDICACIONES<br \/>\nHipersensibilidad a macr\u00f3lidos y a ket\u00f3lidos. Ictericia colest\u00e1tica e insuficiencia hep\u00e1tica asociada al uso previo de azitromicina.<br \/>\nPRECAUCIONES<br \/>\nEmbarazo: Insuficiente evidencia. En animales no ha demostrado toxicidad. Evaluar riesgo\/beneficio. Lactancia: Insuficiente evidencia. Se excreta en leche en cantidades no significativas. Evaluar riesgo\/beneficio.Insuficiencia hep\u00e1tica y renal severa. Suspensi\u00f3n inmediata ante hepatitis. Miastenia gravis. Hipopotasemia o hipomagnesemia. Portadores de QT largo, cong\u00e9nito o conocido, bradiarritmias, condiciones arritmog\u00e9nicas e insuficiencia card\u00edaca. Control ECG (QT). Monitoreo estricto de tiempo de protrombina en pacientes tratados con warfarina. Adulto mayor.
