La Pseudoefedrina clorhidrato es un excelente descongestivo de las v\u00edas a\u00e9reas superiores, incluyendo los senos paranasales. Act\u00faa sobres los receptores alfaadren\u00e9rgicos de la mucosa del tracto respiratorio y produce vasoconstricci\u00f3n. Contrae las membranas mucho nasales inflamadas, reduce la hiperemia tisular, el edema y la congesti\u00f3n nasal, y aumenta la permeabilidad de las v\u00edas respiratorias nasales.
